Bike Works
Bike
Works has been working for kids, bikes, and community in the Rainier
Valley since 1996. Our programs invest in young people and encourage
bicycling as a clean and healthy transportation alternative. Our
mission:
To build sustainable communities by educating
youth and promoting bicycling. We teach young people how to fix
bikes, reward them with their own set of wheels, and provide affordable
bicycle services to the community.
Earn-A-Bike
In our core program, Earn-a-Bike, kids learn all about bike repair over
eight classes. Then during "Earn-a-Bike time" outside of class,
they practice their repair skills on donated bikes, working their way
towards their own recycled cycle to take home.
Bikes
to Ghana
We are
presently accepting donations! We accept adult bikes, kids bikes,
and cool old bikes year-round.
The
Bike Works Shop
Our shop serves Seattle residents from all walks of life with used bike
sales and affordable repairs. Our professional mechanics can fix your
bike, and we have a great selection used bikes and all kinds of used bike
parts and gear.
