Pedal Power
Pedal Power Instructions
It's easy to turn your miles into money with Pedal Power! Get started today.
Every year Bike Works friends at Cascade Bicycle Club produce some of the largest and most recognized bicycling events in the Pacific Northwest. Together, we invite you to support Bike Works this year on any Cascade Bicycle Club ride.
In previous years, motivated riders have raised funds by riding for Bike Works.
How it works
STEP 1: Register
Register for any Cascade Bicycle Club event such as the Group Health SEATTLE TO PORTLAND Bicycle Classic, the RSVP - Ride from Seattle to Vancouver, BC and Party or the Flying Wheels SUMMER CENTURY.
STEP 2: Chose Bike Works
In your registration paperwork select Bike Works as the organization for whom you want to ride. By participating in Pedal Power each dollar you raise will help motivate future riders to turn their miles into money.
STEP 3: Get in touch with us for support --Click here to sign up!
Be in touch with us at Bike Works to let us know that you plan to be a Pedal Power rider for Bike Works. We will send you an information and fund-raising packet. This material will help you get started soliciting pledges from family, friends, co-workers and any supportive members of your community.
STEP 4: Get the Word Out
Tell everyone you know about Bike Works and your Pedal Power mission. Send email to friends, family, and co-workers about the joy of introducing young people to a life time of cycling. Talk about your goals and encourage everyone to help you achieve them.
STEP 5: Have a great ride
STEP 6: Deliver Donations to Bike Works
After the ride, collect the pledges from your sponsors and return the pledges to Bike Works.
STEP 7: Celebrate Your Success
Congratulate yourself and everyone who contributed on a job well done!
5 things you can do to spread the bike love:
- Replace one car trip per week with a self-propelled bicycle trip. You can do it!
- Share the story of your first time riding a bike or your most recent favorite ride with someone in your life.
- Join your local, regional, or state bicycle advocacy organization and volunteer whenever possible.
- Ask your boss to adopt some bike-friendly policies at your place of work such as installing a bike rack and providing a shower.
- Make your vote count by considering bicycle transportation and urban planning issues when you choose your political representation.
